CUSTOMER PORTFOLIOS NAMES PERRY COOPER AS NEW CEO
Database Marketing and CRM Technology Company Taps Former NHL and Rue La La Senior Executive to Lead the Company’s Next Phase of Growth
BOSTON and NEW YORK – March 5, 2014 – Customer Portfolios, a provider of CRM technology and database marketing services, today announced it has appointed award-winning digital marketing veteran, Perry Cooper, as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Company’s cloud-based marketing platform delivers cross-channel personalization, segmentation and lifecycle marketing by managing big data through advanced analytics
Cooper brings to Customer Portfolios more than 25 years of experience in direct, subscription and database marketing; digital and mobile media; marketing analytics; and social media marketing. Most recently, Cooper was Chief Marketing Officer at Rue La La, an online retailer; there, he oversaw all aspects of marketing including database and digital, including customer acquisition, activation and retention.

Prior to Rue La La, Cooper was Senior Vice President of Digital Media for the National Hockey League. While leading the NHL’s digital properties to record levels of consumption, Cooper earned wide industry recognition for his approach. In 2009, 1to1 Marketing Magazine named him one of its annual Customer Champions, and that year Sports Business Journal named him as one of its “People to Watch.”
With this appointment, Augie MacCurrach, Founder of the Company, will become Chief Operating Officer. “Well before the term big data was coined and made mainstream, we were using data mining to help our customers manage and monetize customer data,” said MacCurrach. “Perry is a strong addition to our executive team that has more than 50 years of combined experience applying technology for data-driven marketing.”
As CEO, Cooper will be responsible for creating strategies and implementing new programs that help marketers expand audience development and grow the behavioral profile of customers by capturing data across all channels and touch points. Cooper will take a lead role in establishing strategic partnerships with digital agencies to help them serve and grow their client base by incorporating data driven marketing services.
